Compressor Room Conditions and Initial Startup
Observing proper conditions during the installation and initial startup of the compressor room not only increases the service life of the equipment, but also prevents unexpected shutdowns and additional costs. Some important points regarding compressor room conditions and its initial startup are as follows:
- The transportation, handling, and unloading of the unit must be carried out in such a way that no pressure or impact is applied to the body of the unit or its internal components.
- The compressor room environment must be completely dry, clean, and free from dust, oily contaminants, and suspended particles, and it must be protected from direct sunlight, rain, and atmospheric precipitation.
- The ambient temperature of the compressor room must not exceed +25 °C, and the maximum relative humidity of the environment must not exceed 55%.
- The location of the compressor and equipment must not be near any water well or sewage system.
- A grounding system (earth pit) at the compressor room is mandatory, and the connection of the compressor body to this grounding system must be established prior to startup.
- Storing flammable materials within an 11-meter radius of the compressor room is strictly prohibited.
- Installing a fire extinguisher inside the compressor room is mandatory.
- The compressor must be installed on a completely leveled surface, preferably on a concrete foundation raised 12 cm above the floor level of the compressor room.
